In August of 2019, Elaine completed a master’s degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in drama therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her work as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist was supervised by Kelly Larson-Misquez at Pacific Counseling and Trauma Center in Folsom, California. It was here that she was first introduced to Brainspotting, and she has been a passionate practitioner ever since! Elaine is trained extensively in Brainspotting, having attended Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Brainspotting for Children and Adolescents and Expansion Brainspotting trainings. Her work for two years at Pacific Counseling and Trauma Center involved weekly consultation from leading experts in the field.
The office space at Every Body Heals is designed with play and movement in mind. Toys of nurturance, aggression, creativity, communication, and mastery allow for Child Centered Play Therapy. Sand Tray exploration is available for adults and young people.
Elaine specializes in therapeutic forms which invite our bodies into the process of healing. Play, embodiment, sand tray, “sculpting“, exploring roles and parts, and brainspotting are common forms of exploring client issues.
Every Body Heals Therapy is for adults, children, couples and families who want a therapeutic experience that is engaging, supportive, compassionate, non-judgmental, playful and informed by the mind-body-spirit connection. Many clients prefer more traditional talk therapy, and Elaine is also skilled in this modality.
Elaine lives in El Dorado county with her husband, two children, dog, and cat. She loves to move with her family and when she is not at work she can usually be found playing with her children, climbing, skiing, biking, running, or doing yoga.
